Welcome to Legacy Centre, where we are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors through engaging social activities, events, and specialized programs. Our mission is to foster independence, promote active lifestyles, and create a vibrant community for our senior members. The Beginning
November 23, 1991, was the grand opening of the Legacy Centre. Our partnership with the City of Lloydminster made this day possible! With donations from the Seniors in the community, government grants and funding from the City of Lloydminster, we now had a home to be proud of for the Lloydminster Seniors Citizens Society. Before this accomplishment, the Seniors Centre was situated on 49th Street, where the Air Cadets now reside. It was a much smaller facility, for sure!
Our Centre and Our Seniors
The Legacy Centre is a "City-owned" facility. The city maintains the building structurally, while the Lloydminster Senior Citizens Society handles all the day-to-day operations and expenses (utilities, salaries, and regular maintenance).

In 2012/2013, the City and Seniors worked together to fund the addition of our "up-to-date" commercial kitchen, food services room & workshop. In 2020, the washrooms were renovated and brought up to code.

Since the Legacy Centre opened in 1991, the senior population has soared, and the number of seniors who attend its various events has made it a hub of activity in the City of Lloydminster.

The Legacy Centre's primary function is to serve the seniors of the Lloydminster area, but we also rent our various-sized rooms to other groups and organizations. On days the seniors do not frequent the centre, Weddings, Memorials, Birthdays, Anniversaries, meetings, and more are often scheduled. Overall, the Legacy Centre is a very functional facility for people of all ages in Lloydminster and the surrounding area!
